  • Grid system appears which can be hidden if desired

  • Click in-scene to start drawing the dimensions for your overlay (this can be adjusted later with scaling)

  • You can use measurements from your blueprint to determine the size of the overlay and type those dimensions directly into the width and length

  • Or hold ALT and move your cursor and you see a box form

  • Click Generate and you’re sent to file explorer

  • Pick the PDF you want to use

    • Note: It only takes the first page of PDF, so make sure the first page is the one you want to use, or make a new PDF using that page

  • The overlay appears in scene

image-20240913-004202.png

  • With your overlay in scene, you can interact with it by clicking on it

  • Here you can use the normal Refit window to scale/move the overlay

  • When you Finish refitting, your overlay will become part of the scene, meaning you can click through it to the site below, making excavation more convenient

  • You can select it again with Visibility Override

  • You can clear the PDF Overlay by clicking the object you made it with, and clicking Clear PDF (see Figure 2)You have a red square that is your reference frame for the intended size, if your PDF has margins you can still use the blueprint measurements and then scale and refit your overlay so the margins are outside of the red reference frame

  • You can also open Color Override in element properties and adjust the transparency

  • The overlay starts at 50% transparency

  • With your overlay partially transparent, you can see the ground or model below and trace out the blueprint with our new excavation tool

    • You are able to click through the overlay to trace your excavation below

  • Once done with the overlay, you can use visibility override to hide it

  • You can also “Clear PDF Overlay” to start over if updates to the blueprint come in (see Figure 2)
