Learn how to integrate your construction simulation into your flythrough project

The Construction tab of the Flythrough Animation App gives the user control over aspects of the 4D Schedule from the Flythrough App. This tab does not give you full control over manipulating your 4D/5D schedule. It is best to create and manage your schedule using our designated 4D App as it has many more features and capabilities. From this menu you can control where in your schedule you are, what phase is being displayed, the date and time display settings, and settings that control what information is being displayed.

To adjust the day in the 4D schedule use the timeline slider. The date and time are only applied to nodes that they are saved to and will be gradually transitioned between nodes that have differing 4D construction time stamps.

Exception and Non-working days are be skipped and not displayed when transitioning between nodes.

This date and time will also be reflected in the Time of Day settings in the Scene Effects Tab. Fixing the Sun position will disable this effect, which is a good option if your flythrough transitions through days rapidly. Just like in the 4D Simulation App you can use the magnifying glasses on either side of the timeline to zoom in and out. Additionally, you can use the arrows to snap to either the beginning or the end of the timeline. The date picker in the center of these buttons will specify an exact date.

The Phase drop down menu selects a Phase specified by your Revit project to be displayed.

The Phase Filter drop down menu specifies if phases before or after the current phase are displayed.

The Planned VS Actual checkbox toggles display both the Planned and the actual 3D view in split screen.

The Horizontal checkbox toggles whether planned vs actual views are left to right or top to bottom

The Swap Pos. checkbox flip planned and actual.

The Playback Calendar drop down menu selects a calendar to control what days are considered non working days. For more information on setting a default calendar see 4D Settings.

Auto Generate 4D Schedule creates a 4D schedule based on the equipment and sequence animation tasks in your 4D schedule. A node is added at the beginning and end of each equipment and sequence animation task. The space between nodes is tailored to the speed of your schedule.

Flythrough Date and Time Captions

Learn how to display and control the Date and Time Captions in Flythrough

The Date and Time Checkboxes are exactly like the ones that you can use with in the 4D Schedule. They will control what information is displayed in the Date and Time Display in the top left corner. These checkboxes will apply to your entire flythrough project.

Use the left drop-down menu to select from display options.

The Font type defaults to Arial Normal (30pt). To change this, use the right drop-down menu. Use the associated paint pallet to select a font color

These settings are only applied to each node they are saved to. The Date and Time Display can also be dragged around the 3D view.

Flythrough Gantt Chart

This sections provides detailed information about the different displays that can be used to show task information from the Gantt Chart.

Displaying the Gantt Chart in a flythrough video is important when schedule information is required to communicate details. When displayed in the Flythrough video the Gantt chart retains columns and settings that are set in the 4D App.

Options to display the Gantt chart are located usder 4D Schedulein the Construction tab. Each of them applies to the entire project.

The Show Tasks button toggles display of the Task Table and the Gantt Chart.

The Toggle Graph checkbox toggles display of the 5D graph.

The Gantt Chart and or Graph are always displayed below the 3D view in the Flythrough Video. Both the Graph and Gantt Chart can be displayed at the same time and will appear above and below one another

Show Gantt Chart checkbox toggles the display of a resizeable gantt Chart. This Gantt Chart can be dragged around the view. to resize the Gantt Chart use the handles that appear when hover over its bounds.

The Show Task List checkbox toggles display of active tasks in the current frame. The task list will resize as tasks appear and disappear from the list.

The Show Filter Color Legend checkbox toggles display of filter highlight colors set in your construction project. The Legend displays any filters that have been set to override the highlight color of associated tasks. For more information see Filters.

Flythrough Calendar

Learn how to add a calendar to the flythrough animation and control its settings

A calendar can be added to the flythrough project. The calendar shows the progress of the construction simulation.

The Toggle Calendar checkbox toggles display of the calendar.

The Hide date text on calendar checkbox toggles whether dates on the calendar are hidden.
