Creating and Manipulating rooms

Create and edit rooms that are used for many different analytical tests.

For many of the analytical applications in Fuzor you need to generate a room in order to run a test. Rooms specify a bound for analysis to taken within. If a particular test requires a room, it will have a List Of Rooms Tab inside of its window. Height Clearance, and Light Reports all utilize rooms.

To Edit a room select it in the list.

The Create button will create a new room.

The Delete button will delete the currently selected room.

The Edit toggles whether a selected room is being refit.

When you create a new room select a first corner, an adjacent corner and an opposite corner to define the dimensions. Selecting a room will bring the view to that room. Rooms created in Revit appear in the List of Rooms.

Height Clearance

Check whether objects within a given room violate a height clearance using the Height Clearance Tool.

The Height Clearance App is located within the Analysis tab of the Fuzor App Menu. The Ctrl + I hotkey opens the Height Clearance App. Height clearance ensures that a person of the specified height is able to walk around the room space unobstructed. This tool allows you to generate height clearance results by room.

The Run button generates a list of height clearance violations for that room.

The Report button exports the result list.

The Reset button clears the result list.

The Edit button opens the file in Revit.

The Check Height defines a maximum height to detect objects falling below.

The Initial Spacing defines the spacing between data points.

The Minimum Threshold defines a minimum height to detect objects above.

Light Reports

This section demonstrates how to use the Light Reports App to analyze lighting by room.

The Light Reports App is located in the Analysis Tab of the Fuzor App Menu. The Ctrl + N hotkey opens the Light Reports App. You can use this menu to generate light reports in each of your defined rooms.

The Add button adds a new light report of the current room to the list.

The Generate button saves a selected light report as an .html file.

The Photometric Web Visibility radio buttons toggle whether a mesh is displayed in the 3D view that articulates the light dispersion.

There are many light report settings that can change the results of tests. These settings must be set before a test is added for the settings to apply. These settings generate the lighting results based on a 2D grid over which measurements are taken. If sunlight is included in the measurement, it will change depending on the time of day.

The Height slider controls the height at which the light measurements are taken

The Spacing slider controls the spacing between measurements.

The Rotate text box applies a rotation around the y axis to the grid.

The Offset text boxes translates the grid by the amounts specified .

The Room Boundary Offset filters out grid points if they fall within the threshold of a given offset.

The Include Sunlight check box toggles whether Sunlight is measured.

The Sensor Direction drop down menu selects a direction to measure results from.

The Unit drop down menu specifies a unit to measure by. Possible units are Foot Candles and Lux.

Edge Detection

Detect potentially harmful edges within a defined zone.

The Edge Detection App is located in the Analysis tab of the Fuzor App Menu. The Alt + I hotkey opens the Edge Detection App. This is a good way to ensure that there are no hazardous areas in your model that could be an issue during construction.

The Barrier Height sets a height for the barrier.

The Initial Spacing defines an interval to check over.

The Drop Threshold sets the maximum distance of an unmarked edge.

The Worker Height defines the height of the worker.

The Barrier Radius defines the radius of the barrier.

The Show markers and Show Edges check boxes will toggle whether these are displayed in the 3D view. Edges highlight along dangerous edges, whereas markers highlight the beginning and ends of dangerous edges.

The Calculate button begins the edge detection analysis with the current settings.

The Report button generates an edge detection report with the current settings

The Reset button resets the edge detection settings to their defaults.

Zones are used to confine the test within a space. A zone must be selected in the zone list in order to be calculated.
