Clash Analysis

This chapter demonstrates how to conduct clash analysis using Fuzor’s Clash detection system and generate reports.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Clash Analysis App is located in the Analysis section of the Fuzor App Menu. The Alt + R hotkey opens the Clash Analysis App. The Clash Analysis App allows you to view a list of tests by name. You can select tests from this list by clicking on them. To rename a test double click it in the list.

The Username and Client Name fields are used when generating a report to help keep track of Reports for different projects.

The Run All Tests button will generate a report for all tests.

The New button will add a new test to the list.

The Delete button will remove the selected test.

The Save button will save the currently selected test as an .fcp.

The Load button will open a file explorer for you to load a saved clash test.

When you select a test, it will open up the Clash Selection Window. The Clash Selection Window allows you to pick which objects a clash test is run against. If a checked object in the left selection list intersects with a checked object in the right selection list a clash result will be generated. Check the box next to the name of objects you wish the clash test to be run against.

The Run Test button runs the currently selected test.

The End Test button ends your test returning your view to normal.

The Report button opens the Generate Report Window for exporting clash reports.

The Reset button resets the clash results.

The Tolerance defines a tolerance for your clashes. a higher tolerance filters out minor intersections.

The objects in the Clash selection window are organized into a hierarchy to make it easier to select groups of objects. All children of a particular grouping will be included in the clash test if the parent is. The drop down menu to the right of the Reset button will change the hierarchal structure of the selection menu.

The Levels option organizes the selections by the level defined in Revit.

The Categories option organizes the selections by the kind of object they are defined as.

The Filters option organizes the selections base on the filters they are assigned too.

The Layers option organized the selection by the layer defined in Archicad.

Right Clicking a Clash result allows you to either group the clash or created a Ticket with the clash.

Clicking on a task in the Clash Results Table will highlight and load the viewpoint for the clash.

The Highlight all Clashes checkbox displays all clashes in the current clash test.

The Isolate button toggles the visibility of objects that are not in the clash results list.

The Highlight button toggles whether objects that are in the clash results list are highlighted.

The Clear Resolved button clears all resolved clashes.

The Highlight drop down menu controls what objects are visible when selecting two objects that are part of a clash

The None option shows all objects as normal.

The Exclusive option shows objects that are part of a clash with both objects selected.

The Inclusive option shows objects that are clashing with any selected objects.

The drop down menu that defaults to Transparency controls the render mode when focusing on a clash.

The Transparency mode renders objects not part of the clash transparent.

The Wireframe mode renders objects not part of the clash as a wireframe.

The Basic mode enables basic render mode when focused.

When you have a clash result selected, the bottom left of the Clash Test Result Table will display the name and the ID of the objects that are triggering the clash. The color of the box next to the name is the same as the highlight color in the 3D scene. From left to right the options next to each object do the following.

Groups all clashes associated with this object together.

 

 

Deletes all clashes associated with this object.

Opens the source file this object is from.

Clash Test Results Table Columns

This section demonstrates what all the different columns in the Clash Test Results Table mean and what they can be used to do.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The columns in the Clash Test Results Table display important information that can be used to organize your clash results. To sort by a particular column double click the column header.

The Report column specifies which clashes to be included in the report.

The Clash Name column displays the name of the clash. Double click the name to edit this value.

The View Column has a few options that allow you to view and manipulate where the camera is positioned when focusing on the clash. The view will also be included in any reports generated with this clash result

Load Viewpoint will load the viewpoint associated with that clash result.

Save Viewpoint will overwrite the view point for that clash result with the current viewpoint.

Focus on Clash will focus the camera on that clash.

Delete Viewpoint will remove the current viewpoint.

Delete all Viewpoints will remove all viewpoints for all clashes in the Clash Results Table.

The Stage column on the Clash Results Table changes the status of a particular clash. This is a good way to keep track of what clashes may have been addressed before and what new ones may have arisen from recent updates.

New specifies this Clash is newly added to the Result Table

Active specifies this clash is active but not new.

Resolved specifies this clash has been resolved.

Reviewed specifies this clash has been reviewed.

Approved specifies this clash has been approved.

The Level column displays the which level this clash is located in.

The Grid Intersection column provides where on the 2D Revit grid your object is located.

The Assigned To column specifies who this task is assigned to. Double click to edit.

The Priority column specifies how urgent a clash is. Priority can be Low, Medium, or High.

The Due Date column specifies the due date of the clash. Double click to edit.

The Assigner column specifies who is assigning this task. It will be set to your machine name.

The date modified column displays the date that the any associated object or fields have been changed.

The Description column allows the user to specify a description for the clash. Double click this field to add a description

You can select which clashes to include in your report in the Generate Report Window. Reports can be either HTML or PDF. if the Report is a PDF, you have additional options.

The Grid View Option is good for comparing many clash results. The Images will be fit into a single table column and many clash results will fit on the same page. Below is an example to the grid view option structure.

To the right is the normal layout of the clash analysis in PDF from. The Generate Extra details option will add the extra details that are denoted by the red box in the image to the right. If Generate Extra Details is not checked it will be left blank.
